Soccerclips Returns

After an extended hiatus from online activity, Soccerclips is back to its brilliant best. We decided to remake the website and set a new standard for online soccer media after seeing a proliferation of cheap unprofessional forums pop up over the past few years. While most of our many changes are extremely obvious, I am a firm believer in pointing them out anyway. Please follow along.

Soccerclips is back !!!

One of the most noteworthy improvements involves the general design and aesthetics of the website. The current green and white color scheme is a lot easier to process than the orange and black we sported previously. While known primarily for our extensive soccer video archive, the addition of a Soccerclips web player is sure to be a welcome addition to many members.

The website is currently divided into five major categories. These include home, video, wallpaper, soccer news and upload. I would like to think the Homepage requires no further explanation other than to mention that it shows the latest news and video uploads to the site. The video section is ingeniously divided into six sub-categories - all, latest goals, compilations, freestyle, commercials and online football cv. This division of video type is to facilitate members who wish to locate videos belonging to a specific 'genre'. While the first five video sub-categories are fairly self explanatory I am certain the sixth leaves a few eyebrows raised in perplexity.




The online football cv section does just what its name implies. It is designed specifically to store the match clips of non-professional players who are interested in building their online soccer profile and looking to expose themselves to the world at large. This section represents their internet CV or resume'. No professional videos or freestyle videos are allowed in this section.

The wallpaper section is now more ordered and also offers detailed illustrations of each image along with size specified download options. The news section is an innovative feature which is sure to please the many of us who know (or think we know) all the subtle machinations of the beautiful game. Posting articles on the website will be reserved for News Admins. This is to prevent the system from being abused. The only requirements for members to write and post their articles are (not surprisingly) good writing skills and a demonstrable knowledge of the game.

News Admins are free to be as humorous, witty, biased, crazy or professional as they wish. News Admins are free to post articles anytime they feel inspired or emotional enough to write. In essence, every member is a potential journalist on Soccerclips. Be it via video editing, graphics designing or journalism we welcome the freedom of expression that is so blatantly denied elsewhere.


While the homepage and upload section are general features of any website, it should be noted that Soccerclips has provided 3 separate mechanisms for members to upload media. The first is direct upload from the hard drive, the second is via website URL and the third is by embedding links from other video streaming sites such as Youtube or Metacafe.

There are many other important improvements not mentioned in this article. For example I could easily write an entire essay highlighting the philosophical reasons for changing the website slogan to “Our Goal, Our Game.” In the interest of time though, let us just say it sounds better.


In conclusion we would like to say that this is by no means the finished website. A quick look at the logo will show that Soccerclips is still in the BETA version. There are many other features, categories and improvements which will be added each month. We are also aware that there are a few niggles and kinks which need to be sorted out. These will be fixed by the staff. Members with any innovative ideas for features we should add to the website are welcome to submit their thoughts. Soccerclips belongs to the fans. We have taken another defining step but this is merely the beginning of something wonderful. Together we will bring the beautiful game to the world.
